Slamannan Angling & Protective Association

Slamannan Angling & Protective Association AGM

on Saturday 8th March 2025

at 12 o-clock prompt in Slamannan Community Centre

All welcome.

We are a small Angling Association with a long and rich history that aims to provide affordable fishing to its members and visitors and protect and enhance the river and wider environment.

The Avon is a river well known for its excellent runs of Sea Trout and with its well-established Brown Trout and returning Salmon, this technical small river provides anglers with great opportunities to fish.

Whether you have been fishing for years or are new to angling or the area, there is exciting fishing set in beautiful scenery for you.

We welcome all anglers to come and join our Association, enjoy the fishing and if you want to come along and help us with our river restoration work, even better!

Catch Returns
Catch returns are a vital part of Salmon and Trout Conservation, the data that is gathered by anglers and fisheries is used by organisations such as Marine Scotland and local District Salmon Fishery Boards to assess fish numbers and guides conservation guidelines and action. Your information on how many days you have fished and how many fish you have caught directly impacts the work organisations are doing to protect these incredible species. So please support us in our duty to protect Salmon and Trout by completing your catch return as accurately as possible within two weeks of the close of season so we can all continue to fish responsibly for years to come.
Please provide the following information: (please note, number of days fished is regardless of duration of time spent fishing that day)

Questions & Feedback
Dear members of the Association and community, It is really important to us that we get your feedback and input into the fishery. We are interested to know if you have any thoughts on how we can make it better and create the best experience we can. We know that we are a small group, and we are all volunteers so we may not be able to do everything, but our river and Association mean a lot to us, and we want it to mean just as much for you so please get in touch! You can also get in touch if you have any questions or need any information that we don’t currently have on the website. We look forward to hearing from you! SAPA committee
